HOW TO TURN ANY PICTURE INTO A PERLER BEAD PATTERN

1. CHOOSE YOUR PEGBOARD SIZING (29×29 OR INTERLOCKING)

The standard square Perler bead pegboard measures exactly 29 × 29 beads (841 total beads). If creating a compact keychain or coaster, use the 14×14 Mini preset.

For larger wall art or complex portraits, connect multiple boards together in an interlocking grid. Use the 58×58 preset for a 2×2 board setup, or scale up to 87×87 for a massive 3×3 master canvas.

2. AUTOMATIC BEAD COLOR COUNTING & INVENTORY ESTIMATION

Never run out of black, white, or shade beads halfway through ironing your project. Our live Materials Breakdown Table calculates the exact quantity of each color needed.

Click Copy Hex to review your palette against official Perler, Hama, or Artkal bead color charts before placing your bead orders.

3. DYNAMIC COORDINATE RULERS WITH NUMBERED TICKS

Counting tiny pegs on an unnumbered phone screen causes eye strain and misplaced beads. Our tool features integrated top and left coordinate rulers with numbered intervals (1, 8, 16, 24, 29...).

Simply cross-reference the top and left numbers as you place each bead onto your pegboard to ensure 100% geometric accuracy.

4. MULTI-CRAFT VERSATILITY: HAMA, CROSS-STITCH & DIAMOND PAINTING

This tool is not limited to melt beads. Because each pixel maps to a discrete colored unit, our patterns can be directly used as counted cross-stitch charts, diamond painting templates, crochet graphghans, and Minecraft block building blueprints.

Export in crisp, high-resolution PNG with grid lines enabled, or download a 1:1 sprite for digital archiving.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MAKING PERLER BEAD PATTERNS

The standard square Perler bead pegboard is 29 × 29 beads (841 total beads). For larger projects, crafters interlock two to four boards (such as 58 × 58 beads for a 2×2 interlocking setup). Our pattern maker includes 1-click presets for 14x14 mini boards, 29x29 standard boards, and 58x58 interlocking boards.

Our tool automatically generates a live Materials Breakdown Table under the preview. It lists every color used in your pattern, its hex code, the exact number of beads required, and its percentage proportion so you can purchase or prepare your bead palette with zero guesswork.

Yes. Upload any JPG, PNG, or WebP photo. Our median-cut algorithm reduces high-color photos down to 16, 24, or 32 distinct bead colors while preserving facial features and shading.

Absolutely. Because the output is a numbered coordinate grid with precise color clusters, it is completely compatible with Hama beads, Artkal beads, Nabbi beads, diamond painting canvas grids, and counted cross-stitch patterns.
